Week 6 [28/4] - Mid-Term week assignments

There are no meetings held with my advisor Sir Mohd Azlan B. Abu for this week as we preparing for mid semester examination. But tasks has been given to be done in this week:-

Task:-

1) Preparing presentation slide for proposed project.

Progress:-

1) In this week I have made research on many projects that might be related to my project to be consider as references in building and designing the software for my weather forecasting projects.

2) Following are the references, and explanation according to my understanding:-

Climate Control and Monitoring with Wireless Sensor Network: A Case Study.

The similarities are the monitoring outside temperature, the system are made to control internal temperature as the outside temperature changes. The reference provide me the extra information about understanding the environment temperature and systems to monitor.

Virtual Barometer

This reference are making the weather forecasting with only using Barometer or pressure sensor. As it determine that in Malaysia, the weather can be easily determined as pressure in the air changes. The most prolific references that I will be refer to in the future.

Proposed Block Diagram

All picture are referred from www.met.gov.my ,Malaysia Government Meteorological Department websites.

The block diagram are generally shown, not as specific or the real system that will be used in this project.

Week 5 - 21 / 2 / 2012

5th Meeting with FYP Advisor Sir Mohd. Azlan B. Abu.

Agenda:-

• Presenting full block diagram of the project.

Summary:-

• The project is stated as cannot use only LabView in order to make this project successful.
• Sir Azlan has ordered me to use Artificial Intelligent method name Neural Network to work with Labview. 
• As for week 6 to 7 Sir Azlan has ordered us to made the final FYP presentation slides for Semester 1 final presentation.This is due to Mid-semester phase test and mid-semester holiday, and we are unable to do the meeting as usual. Sir will check it in week 8. 

As starting now I am to join sir Azlan class un-registered as I never taken any AI subject and was unable to add another for this semester. This is for me to learn on how to use the Neural Networks.

Week 4 - 14 / 2 / 2012

4th Meeting with Project Advisor Sir Azlan Bin Abu

Agenda:-

• Presenting a short slides of  summary of introduction part of the technical paper.
• Sir Azlan brief on week 5 assignment.

Summary:-

• Sir Azlan approves the summary of the introduction part of the technical paper.
• Assignments for week 5 is to come out with full system flow charts in detail.

Week 3 - 9 / 2 / 2012

3rd Meeting with FYP Advisor Sir Mohd. Azlan B. Abu.

Agenda:-

• Presentation of project research methodology and title.
• Deciding final project title.
• Confirming conference date.
• Briefing for assignments for week 4.

Summary:-

• Final year project title : Weather Forecast using LabView Software (Research)
• Conference date 8/9/2012 (dateline: 8/4/2012) : Post-Grad Research Conference or Post-Grad Colloquium date 4-5/10/2012 (dateline: 1/5/2012).
• Assignments given are Introduction part for proposals / final reports to be made and to be presented at next meeting at Tuesday (14/2/2012) 1000-1200 hours at library meeting room.

For the rest of the semester we are going to hold our meeting with our advisor at the new time as stated, every Tuesday 1000-1200 hours at Resource Center UniKL-BMI meeting room.

1. Presentation of student research assignment given in week 1.
2. Confirmation on FYP methodology.
3. Blog Assignment briefing.

Summary:-

• Students are given another week to prepare for agenda 1 and 2.

Title: Weather Forecast by using LabView

Meeting Agenda:-

1. Self-Introduction to respecting lecturer & group member.
2. Final year project title brain storming.
3. Research via IEEE websites for project idea.

Summary:-

Task is given by Sir Azlan to me as to research at http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/Xplore/guesthome.jsp for ideas and comparing the methods use for my given project.

Students are to meet Sir Azlan and present all progress in slide presentation every Thursday.
